The Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation (GBHCMF) has announced a significant investment in the health and well-being of Georgians, awarding $8,977,399.43 in grants to 87 health care ministries throughout the state in 2025. This marks a substantial increase of over 6.5% compared to the previous year’s funding.
The GBHCMF’s mission is to support those dedicated to helping others. Executive Director Larry Wynn emphasized the foundation’s commitment to easing the burden on both healthcare providers and those who receive their services. “Our efforts in offering grants to non-profit health care organizations is intended to lighten the burden of those who offer health care services, and those who receive those benefits,” he stated. The foundation’s focus remains on funding “hands-on” health care ministries that provide direct care and support. Grants are awarded to organizations that prioritize compassionate care and unconditional acceptance of individuals in need.
This year’s recipients include nursing programs at Brewton-Parker, Shorter, and Truett McConnell Baptist universities, as well as pregnancy centers, medical and dental clinics, and mobile health ministries operating across Georgia. These organizations are making a tangible difference in communities across the state. In the past year alone, organizations receiving funding reported nearly 1,000 salvation decisions and a staggering 25,455 since the grant program’s inception in 2005. Perhaps most remarkably, foundation-funded clinics ministering to expectant mothers have saved the lives of over 25,000 babies who might otherwise not have been carried to full term.
Since its inception, the Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation has awarded over $92 million in grants, solidifying its role as a crucial pillar of support for health care initiatives throughout Georgia. The foundation’s continued commitment promises to positively impact countless lives in the years to come.
