The Trion High School community is in mourning following the sudden passing of Head Wrestling Coach Randy Stewart on March 3rd. Stewart, a Hall of Famer and beloved figure in the Trion wrestling program, will be honored with a memorial service tomorrow, Saturday, March 8th, at the Trion High School Wrestling Facility.
Trion High School released a statement earlier this week expressing their profound sadness: “Trion Head Wrestling Coach and Hall of Famer, Randy Steward, who left us earlier this evening, surrounded by his loved ones. We are incredibly grateful for the time he dedicated to our Trion Wrestling community. Though his time with us was far too brief, his influence will remain forever. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with the Steward family during this profoundly difficult time. We are honored to have had such an exceptional man and coach as part of our Bulldog Family.”
The “Celebration of Life” ceremony will be held at the Trion High School Wrestling Facility, located at Triangle Shopping Center, 240 Central Ave, Trion, GA 30753. Visitation with family and friends will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, immediately followed by a brief ceremony honoring Coach Stewart’s life and legacy. Arrangements are being handled by Mason Funeral Home.
While flowers are welcome, the Stewart family has requested that, in lieu of floral arrangements, donations be made to your local Humane Society and/or Animal Shelter in Coach Stewart’s honor, reflecting his deep love for animals, particularly his dogs.
Coach Stewart’s dedication to the Trion wrestling program and the positive impact he had on countless students will be deeply missed. He is remembered as an exceptional man and coach who will forever be part of the Bulldog Family.
