Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Human Resources has received a Model Agency Award for fiscal year 2025. This recognition comes after the Georgia Department of Administrative Services Human Resources Administration (HRA) assessed various agencies, with thirteen achieving a Tier 1 compliance ranking in the FY2025 Human Resources Assessment.

Elizabeth Barksdale, director of HR at GNTC, expressed great joy over this achievement, highlighting the hard work of the HR staff in maintaining compliance for the college. This is the first time GNTC has received this award, and Barksdale, who was elected to the 2025 Executive Committee for the Georgia Council for Human Resources, sees it as a motivation to strive for more awards in the future.

The Tier 1 category indicates a strong and compliant Human Resources program, aligned with laws and best practices. Other agencies recognized in this category include Gwinnett Technical College and Georgia Department of Public Health.
