Summerville, Georgia water customers, who have used and paid for city water from January 2020 to January 23, 2025, may be impacted by three proposed class action settlements regarding PFAS contamination in the drinking water. These settlements, known as the Summerville Class Action Settlements, involve agreements with the following companies:

PULCRA FIRST CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT: Involves Pulcra Chemicals, LLC from the case Parris v. 3M Company.
HUNTSMAN SECOND CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT: Involves Huntsman International, LLC.
TRION THIRD CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT: Involves Mount Vernon Mills, Inc. and the Town of Trion, Georgia.

The settlements aim to create a Temporary Drinking Water Fund, offering residents either bottled water delivery or a home/business water filter, but do not include direct cash payments.

Residents can object to the settlements, but must do so by today, Monday April 7, 2025, with Fairness Hearings scheduled for April 23, 2025, and June 11, 2025.
