The Town of Trion has announced its proposed budget for the fiscal year 2025/2026, totaling $15,199,377.88 in both revenues and expenses across all departments. The balanced budget aims to address the needs of the community and ensure the continued provision of essential services.
The budget is divided into several key funds, including the General Fund, Gas Revenue Fund, Sewer/WWTP Fund, Water Fund, and SPLOST Fund. Each fund is projected to have balanced revenues and expenses: General Fund: $3,989,432.19 Gas Revenue Fund: $5,796,713.45 Sewer/WWTP Fund: $4,754,232.24 Water Fund: $292,500.00 SPLOST Fund: $366,500.00 A copy of the complete proposed budget is available for public review at the Town Hall Business Office during regular business hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to examine the details of the proposed financial plan.
The Town of Trion will hold a public hearing work session on June 12, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Conference Room to discuss the budget and receive public input. The budget will then be considered for adoption at a regular council meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Town officials urge all interested citizens to attend the public hearing and participate in the budgetary process.
