Georgia hunters can now apply online for most quota hunts, including youth, deer, alligator, waterfowl, and dove hunts, as announced by the Wildlife Resources Division (WRD). Tina Johannsen, Assistant Chief of the Game Management Section, advises hunters to check application deadlines and not to wait until the last minute. Quota hunts are events where a limited number of hunters can participate at Wildlife Management Areas or state-managed properties, providing a quality hunting experience.
To apply, visit GoOutdoorsGeorgia.com, select “Quota Hunts,” and follow the steps to complete the application. Ensure your email is updated for notifications. For help, call 1.800.366.2661. Deadlines vary by hunt type: July 15 for Alligator, August 15 for Dove, and September 1 for most Deer Hunts.
Changes for youth hunters define a Youth quota hunter as those aged 15 and under to enter youth quota lotteries. If you turn 16 before June 1, 2026, you will need to use accumulated priority points for youth hunts in the 2025-2026 year. Visit GeorgiaWildlife.com/hunting/quota for more details.
