Walker County Chairwoman Angie Teems is launching a series of five town hall meetings under the banner “Common Sense is Our Common Ground” to directly engage with residents and gather feedback on crucial issues impacting their lives.

“We don’t have a specific topic driving these talks,” said Teems. “I want to provide an open forum to hear from the community about the issues important to them and how the county can be part of enhancing their quality of life.” The town halls, all scheduled to begin at 6 PM, will be held at the following locations:

Tuesday, June 17 – Cedar Grove Community Center (5395 W Cove Road, Chickamauga)

Tuesday, June 24 – Walker County Civic Center (10052 Highway 27, Rock Spring)

Tuesday, July 15 – Rossville Community Center (301 Williams Street, Rossville)

Tuesday, July 22 – Board of Commissioners Building (101 S Duke Street, LaFayette)

TBA – Center Post Community Center (8125 Highway 337, LaFayette)

Chairwoman Teems will kick off each meeting with a brief summary of her first six months in office, followed by an open forum for residents to ask questions and share their perspectives. A rotating panel of county department heads and officials will be present to address inquiries concerning county operations, ongoing projects, and future strategic planning. Beyond the town hall series, Teems announced the upcoming launch of a community survey this summer.

This survey will gather further insights into various topics, including county facilities, recreation, and infrastructure. The survey will be distributed to a selection of residents via mail and will also be accessible online.
