Michael Lance Brown, 36, of Cloudland, Georgia, was arrested Tuesday on a multitude of felony charges related to the production and distribution of child pornography, illegal video recordings, and unlawful eavesdropping. The arrest follows an ongoing investigation led by Investigator Daniel Sanford of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the United States Department of Homeland Security.

According to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader, the investigation revealed that Brown was allegedly manufacturing, uploading, and distributing child pornography online. Authorities also uncovered evidence suggesting that Brown was using a hidden video recorder to obtain images of individuals without their knowledge or consent.

The charges against Brown are extensive and include:

  • Sexual Exploitation of Children – Felony (6 counts): These charges stem from the alleged creation and distribution of child pornography.
  • Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation – Felony (6 counts): Further charges related to the use of computers and electronic devices in the production and dissemination of illegal content involving minors.
  • Unlawful Eavesdropping or Surveillance – Felony (11 counts): These charges relate to the alleged surreptitious recording of individuals without their knowledge or consent.
  • Possession of Eavesdropping Device – Felony (2 counts): Accusations of possessing devices used for the purpose of unlawful eavesdropping and surveillance.
  • Surreptitious Recording of Intimate Parts – Felony (11 counts): Pertaining to the alleged secret recording of individuals’ intimate body parts without their consent.
  • Transmission of Photography or Video Depicting Nudity or Sexually Explicit Conduct of an Adult – Felony (5 counts): Charges associated with the distribution of sexually explicit material involving adults.
