A Floyd County Prison inmate is facing additional charges after allegedly conspiring to smuggle tobacco and rolling papers into the facility. Muandarious Gartae Hall, 30, of Greenville, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week in connection to the alleged scheme.
According to reports, Hall engaged in a recorded telephone conversation with an unidentified individual, during which they discussed a plan to introduce contraband into the prison. Authorities allege that Hall and his co-conspirator planned to leave one pound of tobacco, ten packs of rolling papers, and five sheets of unidentified “strips” in a trashcan near the Riverview Park playground on June 23rd.
Law enforcement officials did not specify whether the contraband was successfully retrieved.
Hall is now charged with items prohibited by an inmate, a felony offense in Georgia. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities may pursue charges against the individual who allegedly conspired with Hall.
Hall was already incarcerated at the Floyd County Prison on unrelated charges. The new charges could potentially extend his prison sentence.
