A Summerville man with distinctive facial tattoos was arrested Friday, July 11th, following an investigation into two separate shoplifting incidents at Judy’s Herb Shop on Commerce Street, both reportedly captured on store surveillance footage.

According to police reports, Summerville City Units were dispatched to Judy’s Herb Shop at 10900 Commerce Street at approximately 10:00 PM on July 11th, responding to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, an officer made contact with Tessa Keller, an employee at the store.

Keller stated that a male with tattoos covering his face had entered the store earlier that evening, specifically at 7:55 PM, grabbed a pink glass bong from a shelf, and walked out without paying. The bong was valued at $42.79. Ms. Keller provided store video footage to officers, which showed a white male with red/brown hair, wearing a black shirt, camouflage pants, and green slides, with a cross chain around his neck, taking the item.

The investigating officer, based on prior incidents, was able to identify the male as Brandon Hullett, who is known to have numerous facial tattoos.

Further investigation led officers to Hullett’s residence at 295 Woodland Avenue, Apt 2B, where he lives with Kyle Strickland. With Strickland’s permission, officers entered the residence to speak with Hullett about the incident. During this encounter, the pink bong was located inside the residence and retrieved by Strickland for the officers.

Brandon Hullett reportedly admitted to taking the bong, stating he was “just mad today.” He was subsequently advised that he was permanently banned from Judy’s Herb Shop, a directive that was logged with 911. Hullett was then transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.

Notably, the retrieved bong contained suspected marijuana, which Hullett admitted to having smoked from the device. Officers attempted to return the used bong to Judy’s Herb Shop, but the store declined to accept it back due to its used condition and the fact it had been stolen. The item was subsequently discarded at the Summerville Police Department.

During the course of the investigation, officers were also alerted to a separate shoplifting incident involving Brandon Hullett at Judy’s Herb Shop that occurred on June 21, 2025. Returning to the store, officers reviewed video footage from that date, specifically at 2:26 PM. The video reportedly showed Brandon Hullett reaching behind the counter and taking a pink “Kadobar” nicotine vape, strawberry banana flavored, valued at $23.53. He was seen placing the item in the front of his shorts and leaving the store without paying.

The video evidence from both incidents was retrieved by police. A warrant for shoplifting has been issued for Brandon Hullett in connection with these incidents. Hullett was arrested on the outstanding warrant on Tuesday morning of this week and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
