The Town of Lyerly has officially announced the dates for its 2025 General Election, inviting residents to cast their votes for Mayor and two Town Council seats. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with candidate qualifying set to open in August 2025.

Per official notice in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-131(a)(1)(A), the General Election will be held at Lyerly Town Hall, located at 6086 Highway 114, Lyerly, Georgia. Polls will be open to registered voters from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

The offices up for election include:

  • Mayor (one seat)
  • Council Seat 1 (one seat)
  • Council Seat 2 (one seat)

All offices shall carry a four (4) year term, providing leadership and direction for the town’s future initiatives.

Prospective candidates interested in running for any of these positions must officially qualify during the specified period. Qualifying will run from Monday, August 18, 2025, through Friday, August 22, 2025. Candidates can qualify at Lyerly Town Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day. Please note that the office will be closed for qualifying between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily for lunch.

A qualifying fee of $35 is required for all offices, including Mayor and both Council Seats. This fee must be paid to the Elections Superintendent at the time of qualifying.

The Town of Lyerly encourages all eligible citizens to participate in the democratic process, whether by running for office or by casting their vote on Election Day. Further information regarding voter registration and election procedures will be made available closer to the election date.
