
Updated: The pedestrian struck near Walmart in Tein was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries
Chattooga County emergency crews were kept busy Tuesday afternoon as multiple accidents occurred within a short span of time across the county, sending at least one person to the hospital. Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader confirmed the incidents to WZQZ News.
The first reported accident involved a motor vehicle and a bicycle. This collision occurred at the intersection of Lake Wanda Reita Road and Highway 27 in Summerville. According to Sheriff Schrader, the bicycle rider was transported by ambulance to a Rome hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after the Summerville incident, another accident was reported on Highway 27 near the Walmart in Trion. In this case, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Fortunately, the pedestrian did not sustain serious injuries.
A third accident also occurred on Filter Plant Road. Details surrounding this incident, including whether there were any injuries or the nature of the vehicles involved, have not yet been released by authorities.
It was a busy afternoon for local first responders as they managed these separate incidents.
