An inmate currently housed at the Floyd County Jail is facing a new felony charge of terroristic threats and acts after allegedly threatening to bomb the Floyd County Courthouse during a recorded phone call.

According to jail records, 42-year-old Heith Hadden Swanson made the alarming statement, “I’m going to blow up the freakin’ Floyd County Courthouse,” to his mother during a conversation that was monitored and recorded by jail authorities.

Swanson has been held at the Floyd County Jail since August 4, when he was initially arrested on charges of aggravated stalking. Previous jail reports indicate that Swanson violated a temporary protective order twice within a five-day period. He further complicated his legal situation by allegedly calling the victim from jail, leading to a second aggravated stalking charge.

The latest threat has resulted in the additional felony charge, and Swanson remains in custody at the Floyd County Jail.
