Throughout the latter half of August 2025, inspectors visited multiple establishments across Chattooga County’s food service and tourist accommodation sectors, and nearly every one achieved the top mark of 100.

In the food service category, national chains and local favorites alike demonstrated excellence. The Wendy’s in Trion (08-27-2025), Papa John’s in Summerville (08-26-2025), and the locally-owned Rosita’s on Henry Branch Road (08-04-2025) all received flawless reports.

The tourism and lodging sector mirrored this success. The Express Inn & Suites in Trion (08-25-2025) and the Summerville Motel (08-26-2025) both scored 100. They were joined by unique local stays, including the Paradise Garden Air BnB and the cabins at James H. Floyd State Park, which both aced their inspections earlier in the month, on August 7.

The inspections are a routine process, where environmental health specialists evaluate compliance with state regulations. They check for critical violations like improper food temperatures and cross-contamination risks, as well as core violations related to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.

While the period was dominated by perfect scores, one establishment, the Bojangles on Highway 27 in Summerville, received a score of 83 during its inspection on August 12.
