The Trion High School wrestling program is rolling out the mats for a new era, and the entire community is invited to be a part of it. The school will host a “Meet & Greet” event on Wednesday, September 17th, offering students, parents, and supporters a chance to connect with newly hired Head Wrestling Coach Sean Hage.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Trion High School Wrestling Facility. School officials emphasize that the gathering is not just for returning athletes but is open to anyone interested in wrestling, becoming a team manager, or supporting the growth of the Bulldog wrestling program.

Hage, who was hired in April 2025 and also serves as a Physical Education teacher at the school, brings a legendary resume to Trion. He is a Georgia Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee with a career defined by excellence both on the mat and from the sidelines.

As a competitor, Coach Hage was a dominant force. He is a four-time Georgia State Champion, a three-time AAU National Champion, and captured the prestigious 1994 Junior World Champion title. His success earned him a full scholarship to West Virginia University, where he became an All-American.

His transition to coaching has been equally impressive. Prior to arriving in Trion, Hage built a powerhouse program at Lumpkin County High School, leading them to a GHSA Duals State Championship. Throughout his coaching career, he has secured multiple area and region championships and has been recognized with several “Wrestling Coach of the Year” awards.

The September 17th Meet & Greet is a free event. For more information, contact Trion High School Athletics.
