Ahead of the new academic year, the Chattooga Family Connection successfully hosted its annual Back to School Bash, providing essential resources and a celebratory send-off for over 400 students from both Chattooga and Trion communities. The event, held before school officially resumed this year, saw strong community turnout and positive feedback from attendees.

Maisha Ludy, with Chattooga Family Connection, shared the impressive attendance figures, detailing the widespread reach of the event. A total of 404 students benefited from the bash, comprising:

254 elementary students
97 middle school students
45 high school students
8 students from out-of-county, demonstrating the event’s broader appeal.

The success of the bash was largely attributed to strong community participation and dedicated support from local vendors, as noted by Ludy. Among the most popular offerings were free haircuts, which provided a practical and confidence-boosting service for many students.

Attendees particularly praised the improved layout this year. “Everyone loved the new flow where each item had its own table,” Ludy highlighted, emphasizing the efficiency and ease of access for families navigating the various resources and giveaways. The organized structure, coupled with supportive vendors, contributed significantly to the positive atmosphere and smooth operation of the event.
