The Salvation Army of Rome, GA, serving Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga Counties, has announced that applications for its highly anticipated Angel Tree program for 2025 are now open. This vital program aims to provide Christmas gifts for children and much-needed assistance for seniors during the holiday season.
Chattooga County residents seeking assistance for children aged birth to 12 years, or for seniors aged 65 and older, are encouraged to apply. Applications will be taken in person only on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of October 2025, starting on Tuesday, October 2nd.
Key Application Details for Chattooga County Residents:
Who: Parents or legal guardians of children aged birth to 12 years, and seniors aged 65 and up.
What: In-person applications for Christmas assistance through the Angel Tree program.
When: Every Tuesday and Thursday in October 2025 (October 1st – 31st).
Morning Session: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Where: The Salvation Army office, 317 East 1st Avenue, Rome, GA 30161.
Important Note for Chattooga Residents: While the primary application location is in Rome, The Salvation Army will announce details for potential additional application dates and locations in Polk and Chattooga Counties as soon as they are confirmed. Required Documents for Application (Copies of ALL must be brought):
Applicants are required to bring copies of all the following documents at the time of their application to ensure processing:
For Children: Birth certificates or Medicaid cards for all children in the household.
Proof of Benefits: Documentation of all assistance received (e.g., Food Stamps, SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid).
Proof of Income: For the parent/guardian applicant.
Proof of Residency: First page of a mortgage statement, lease agreement, or utility bill showing the current address.
Photo ID: For the applicant.
Failure to supply all required documents by November 28, 2025, after adequate attempts to contact the applicant, will result in elimination from the Angel Tree program.
