
The City of Summerville has released important dates and information regarding its upcoming Municipal General and Special Election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Residents are encouraged to prepare early and participate in shaping their local government.
The Municipal General Election will seek to fill the expired terms for three positions: Mayor, Council Seat #1, and Council Seat #2. In conjunction with this, a Special Election will also be held to fill the unexpired term of Council Seat #3.
To ensure eligibility, the last day for residents to register to vote or to change their address is Monday, October 6, 2025.
For those who wish to cast their ballot early, advance and absentee voting will be available at Summerville City Hall, located at 120 Georgia Ave, Summerville, GA 30747.
Key Advance and Absentee Voting Dates:
- Advance/Absentee Voting Period: Tuesday, October 14, 2025, through Friday, October 31, 2025.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Summerville City Hall.
- Weekend Advance Voting:
- Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Summerville City Hall.
- Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Summerville City Hall.
- Absentee Ballot Application Deadline: Applications for absentee ballots must be received by Friday, October 24, 2025.
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Should a runoff election be necessary for any of the contested seats, it will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Summerville City Hall.
