Budding artists in grades 9-12 are invited to capture the natural beauty of James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park through their artistic talents at the upcoming “Paint & Pop” event. This free program offers a unique opportunity for young creatives to immerse themselves in the park’s scenic landscapes and potentially have their work showcased at the Georgia State Capitol.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th, kicking off at 6:30 PM. While the program itself is free, a standard $5 park pass will be required for entry.

Participants will be provided with all necessary art supplies, allowing them to focus on translating the park’s picturesque vistas onto canvas. Each attendee is permitted to submit one painting for consideration. The most compelling pieces may be selected for a special display at the Georgia State Capitol, offering an exceptional platform for young Georgia artists.
