The Chattooga Indians were unable to replicate their offensive success from last week, suffering a 48-21 defeat at the hands of Gordon Lee High School last night in a home game. The loss comes just seven days after a triumphant 45-27 victory over Armuchee, a game that saw the Indians put up their highest point total of the season.

Despite the encouraging offensive performance against Armuchee, Chattooga struggled to find their rhythm against a dominant Gordon Lee squad. The visiting Trojans controlled the game from the outset, with the Indians only managing to put points on the board in the second half.

The Chattooga offense finally broke through in the third quarter. With five minutes remaining, Aiden Fletcher found the end zone on a rushing touchdown, followed by a successful extra point from Jose Castro. The Indians continued to show flashes of fight in the fourth quarter. Javion Cotton added another rushing touchdown, and Jovanni Hill followed suit with a touchdown of his own.

Ultimately, these late-game efforts were not enough to overcome Gordon Lee’s substantial lead. The Trojans secured a decisive 48-21 victory, leaving the Indians with a lot to reflect on.

The Chattooga Indians will have an opportunity to bounce back and aim for their second win of the season next Friday when they host Fannin County at The Little Big Horn.
