Young adventurers aged 6 to 12 are invited to embark on a day of outdoor exploration and education at the upcoming Jr. Ranger Camp, scheduled for Saturday, October 8th. This unique program, organized by local park officials, promises a blend of fun activities and essential wilderness skills, all under the guidance of experienced park rangers.

Dubbed “Adventure Awaits,” the camp is designed to introduce children to the joys and safety of the great outdoors. From 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, participants will join park rangers for an enriching day packed with engaging activities. Campers will have the opportunity to learn basic fishing techniques, explore scenic trails during a guided hike, and engage in various games aimed at fostering a love for nature while teaching crucial outdoor safety practices.

“This camp is a fantastic opportunity for kids to connect with nature, learn valuable skills, and understand the importance of respecting our natural environment,” said a park representative. “Our rangers are excited to share their knowledge and passion for the outdoors, ensuring a day that is both educational and incredibly fun.”

The registration fee for the Jr. Ranger Camp is $30 per child, which covers the cost of materials and ranger-led activities. Parents are reminded that campers should bring their own packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Spaces for this exciting outdoor experience are limited, so early registration is highly encouraged. To secure a spot for your child or if you have any questions, please call the Park Office directly at 706-857-0826.
