Summerville Police are currently investigating a residential burglary that occurred Friday afternoon on Lee Street, where an unknown individual stole a PlayStation 5 gaming console and a video game.

Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:05 PM on Friday, October 3, 2026, following a report from the victim who returned home to discover the theft.

According to the police report, the incident is believed to have taken place between 2 PM and 4 PM.  The victim stated that she left her residence during that two-hour window and found the electronics missing upon her return.

The stolen items include one (1) PlayStation 5 gaming console, valued at approximately $500, and one (1) copy of the video game “Madden NFL 26,” valued at approximately $60. The total estimated loss is reported to be $560.

Police noted that there were no signs of broken windows, damaged locks, or other evidence suggesting a break-in. This detail heavily suggests that the perpetrator may have gained entry through an unlocked door or possessed a key.

In a statement provided to officers, the victim expressed a belief that the suspect may be someone familiar with the household.

Further analysis of the scene revealed a peculiar detail: the perpetrator reportedly removed a game disc from the console before taking the PlayStation 5 itself. While the “Madden NFL 26” disc was stolen, the removal action suggests deliberate maneuvering by the individual who conducted the theft.

The investigation into the incident is still active.
