A Chattooga County woman is facing a slate of serious charges, including terroristic threats and felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, following a highly disruptive incident at a local fast-food restaurant last week.
Monique Chantel Farrington, 52, was arrested on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, after deputies from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to a disorderly person call at the Wendy’s located on Highway 27. A deputy was dispatched to the location after reports that a woman was causing a scene inside the restaurant. The officer located Farrington, who was observed exhibiting physical signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol and watery, bloodshot eyes.
Escalation Over Food Order
The incident reportedly began when Farrington grew irate over the quality of her food. Upon interviewing the restaurant victim and manager, deputies learned that Farrington started screaming for a manager and began making explicit threats.
The police narrative indicates that as the confrontation escalated, Farrington threatened the employees, allegedly stating that she would have her daughter “come up here and smash” or “whoop her ass” (as recorded on a witness video) to the victim working the counter.
The arresting officer secured matching statements from the victim, the manager, and two separate third-party witnesses. One witness, a juvenile, provided the officer with video evidence of the highly charged incident, which has been attached to the case file.
Based on the evidence gathered, including Farrington’s admission to having consumed wine, the deputy determined there was probable cause for arrest. Farrington was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
Felony Charges Added at Intake
The situation worsened for Farrington during the jail intake process. While she was being searched by a jailer, a clear plastic bag containing ten blue pills—imprinted with “GG258,” identifying them as Xanax (a Schedule IV controlled substance)—was discovered.
Possessing the pills, which were not in their original container, resulted in two additional felony charges, including a serious violation of jail protocol.
The arresting officer confirmed that warrants are being sought against Farrington for the following six offenses:
