Chattooga County and much of Northwest Georgia are starting the day under partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in the upper 50s, but a significant weather change is on the horizon, bringing much-needed rain and cooler conditions.

Currently, the region is experiencing unseasonably warm and dry weather, largely due to a persistent high-pressure system dominating the southeastern United States. Expect southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. The rain is expected to clear in the evening, leading to colder conditions, with overnight lows dropping into the low to mid-40s.
• Monday, October 20th: Sunny and pleasant conditions are forecast to return, with highs around 70°F. A light north wind will shift to the west in the afternoon. Overnight, skies will be mostly clear, with lows in the mid-40s.
• Tuesday, October 21st: The pleasant weather is expected to continue with mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures. Highs will reach the mid-70s, with lows in the mid-40s.
