The Town of Trion Water Department has issued a critical notice informing residents of a scheduled water shut-off impacting services south of the river this Saturday morning, October 25, 2025.

The interruption is necessary to allow crews to conduct urgent repairs on a primary water main.

According to the notice, issued Wednesday by the Water Department, the shut-off will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Affected Area and Duration

The planned service outage encompasses all water services located south of the river. Specific areas cited in the notice include properties from Allgood Street through the Trion Post Office.

The department is emphasizing that the repair work is expected to be brief.

“The interruption of services should last a couple of hours,” the notice stated, assuring residents that crews will work efficiently to restore pressure and service quickly. Mayor Lanny E. Thomas is listed on the organizational letterhead, though the notice was signed by the Town of Trion Water Department.

The town apologized in advance for the inconvenience the maintenance will cause, urging residents in the affected zones to plan ahead by drawing water for essential needs before 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
