A Summerville woman was arrested shortly after midnight this past Thursday following a report of a domestic problem on Fourth Street. Audrey Wooten was taken into custody after police officers determined she was allegedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the neighborhood.

According to the Summerville Police Department report, officers were dispatched to 275 Fourth Street shortly after midnight in response to a domestic call. Upon arrival, an officer observed Audrey Wooten walking on Fourth Street near the residence.

The responding officer noted in the report that Wooten was “loud and boisterous, and disturbing the peace of the neighborhood.” Furthermore, she was reportedly intoxicated on a public street, exhibiting a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.

Wooten was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.

The charges stem from an incident where the complainant stated they had instructed Ms. Wooten to leave the property, but she allegedly refused to comply.

In addition to the public disturbance charges, property damage was reported at the residence. A victim, upon returning to the dwelling, noticed that property had been thrown around inside. When asked by officers if anything was broken, the victim advised that a lamp had been damaged.

Audrey Wooten was transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.
