Trion High School’s softball program, under the guidance of Head Coach Jason Lanham, has wrapped up a truly memorable 2025 season, culminating in an impressive 5th place finish at the State Tournament. The Lady Dawgs achieved a stellar 20-8 overall record, securing a coveted Region Championship and making a deep, impactful run into the state playoffs.

Coach Lanham, who led the team through this remarkable campaign, expressed profound pride in his players’ dedication and achievements. “What a season! It has been such a privilege to coach this group and we are so incredibly proud of them!” Lanham shared in a post-season message. “We told them at the beginning of the season that their potential was great and they would achieve amazing things if they would work hard and buy into our vision and into each other – and they did! Thank you for such a fun and successful season, Lady Dawgs! We love you!”

The journey to the state tournament was marked by several significant milestones for the Trion squad. After clinching the highly competitive Region Championship title, the Lady Dawgs showcased their home-field dominance by successfully hosting and winning both the first and second rounds of the state playoffs. This strong performance propelled them to the Elite Eight Qualifier held in Columbus, where they ultimately secured their top-five state ranking.

A crucial element of the team’s success was the leadership and commitment of its graduating seniors. Coach Lanham took a moment to acknowledge their invaluable contributions. “To our Seniors: Thank you for all the time, work, and heart you have put into this program the past 4 years!” the coach’s message continued. “You have left an honorable legacy, a list of accomplishments, and a feeling of success that we will be chasing next season. We love you and will be cheering you on in your next chapter of life!”

The 2025 season, under Coach Lanham’s leadership, has undoubtedly set a new benchmark for Trion High School softball, leaving a legacy of hard work, teamwork, and championship-level performance for future Lady Dawgs teams to aspire to.
