Election Day is tomorrow, and Chattooga County voters are urged to prepare for a crucial ballot featuring statewide races, important local funding referendums, and municipal elections across four towns.

Polls will open promptly tomorrow morning at 7 AM, giving residents the opportunity to cast ballots that will influence Georgia’s energy regulatory direction and determine future local tax streams for Chattooga County.

Focus on Local Funding: Two Sales Tax Referendums

Perhaps the most immediate local concern for Chattooga County voters are the two separate referendums regarding proposed additional sales taxes. Voters will decide whether to approve these measures, which, if passed, would provide supplementary funding for county services and projects.

Both measures require careful consideration, as they represent a direct decision on how local government services will be funded moving forward.

Statewide Race: The Public Service Commission

While local issues are paramount, residents will also be voting on candidates for the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC). The PSC is responsible for regulating the state’s utility monopolies, including electricity and natural gas rates.
