Santa Claus is getting ready for a busy Christmas season in Chattooga County, and State Court Judge Jon Dennis is helping spread the word on where families can find him throughout December. Dennis released Santa’s official appearance schedule, noting that Santa is eager to see children across Summerville and the rest of the county as the holiday season begins.
Santa will make his first local appearance tomorrow, December 1st, during the Summerville Christmas Parade at 7 p.m. Later this week, he’ll return for Summerville Christmas in the Park on Thursday, December 4th, where families can enjoy games, music, and holiday fun.
On Saturday, December 6th, Santa joins the Chattooga County 4-H Breakfast With Santa event early that morning, followed by a visit to Chattooga High School beginning at 4 p.m. The next day, Sunday, December 7th, he’ll be greeting families during Porch Visits at 292 East Washington Street from 1 to 4 p.m. Families are welcome to take their own photos during these visits.
Santa will then head to Sloppy Floyd State Park on Saturday, December 13th for an evening of treats, storytelling, and Christmas activities. A second round of Porch Visits is scheduled for Sunday, December 14th, once again from 1 to 4 p.m.
On December 19th, Santa will make several special stops, including visits with children at Kaleidoscope, the Chattooga County Senior Center, and the Trion Library. Finally, Santa will go live on Facebook on December 23rd from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for a last-minute check-in before loading his sleigh on Christmas Eve.
Judge Dennis says Santa looks forward to meeting families all across Chattooga County and sharing holiday cheer throughout December.
