The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is assisting the Walker County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation into a shooting that left a 2-year-old child hospitalized in Rock Spring.
According to officials, the incident happened on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. At approximately 9:50 a.m., Walker County deputies responded to a 911 call in the 300 block of Tarvin Road regarding a child suffering from a gunshot wound.
Deputies and EMS arrived at the home and immediately transported the child to the hospital for treatment. Authorities say the child remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the GBI shortly after deputies responded to the scene. Officials say the investigation is active and ongoing, and additional details have not been released at this time.
