A longtime spiritual leader and beloved figure in Chattooga County, Pastor John Mann, has passed away. Pastor Mann had been hospitalized for several days and died in the early morning hours of Sunday.

Pastor Mann served as pastor of West Berryton Faith Temple Holiness Church for more than 60 years, dedicating his life to ministry and to the people of the Berryton and greater Chattooga County communities. Over decades of service, he preached to, mentored, and counseled multiple generations of families and was widely known and respected throughout the area for his faith, leadership, and compassion.

In light of his passing, West Berryton Faith Temple Holiness Church announced that it will not hold services today, Sunday, January 4, 2026.

In a statement released by the church, officials said:

“Out of respect and in this time of mourning, there will be no church services today, Sunday, January 4, 2026. We ask that you continue to cover the Mann family, our church family, and our community in prayer during these sacred and difficult days.”

Funeral arrangements for Pastor Mann are incomplete at this time and are expected to be announced at a later date.
