The Miss University of Georgia Pageant crowned its 2026 winner Friday night in Athens, naming Sailor Ott, a biological sciences major from Toccoa, as Miss UGA. Ott emerged from a field of 19 contestants, earning the title and a $1,250 scholarship.
Jackson Swann finished as runner-up, receiving a $250 scholarship, and also took home multiple honors, including Miss Congeniality, the Interview Award, and a trophy for her overall placement. Contestants were scored across five categories: personal interview (30%), on-stage conversation (10%), talent (20%), health and fitness (20%), and evening attire (20%).
Throughout the night, contestants discussed their community service initiatives—with causes ranging from sexual violence awareness and period health to education, health care, and agriculture—before showcasing talents that included singing, dancing, ventriloquism, and comedy. The health and fitness portion, sponsored by the American Heart Association, highlighted a commitment to wellness, followed by a final walk in evening attire.
With the crown, Ott will represent the University of Georgia in the Miss Georgia competition later this June.
