The Berry College music department is set to deliver a spring lineup of performances designed to connect with the Rome community through music that highlights culture, representation, and shared experiences.
The series begins March 1 at 3 p.m. with Berry Winds presenting “Crosswinds” in Berry’s Bell Recital Hall, featuring music that explores diversity, intercultural representation, and cross-cultural intersection through layered, engaging melodies.
On March 3 at 7 p.m., the Berry College Wind Ensemble returns to Bell Recital Hall for “Women in Music,” celebrating groundbreaking composers such as Florence Price and Carol Brittin Chambers with an evening focused on trailblazing voices and vibrant wind-band works.
Later in the month, The Berry Singers will present their homecoming concert, “Echoes of Portugal,” on March 22 at 7 p.m. in Bell Recital Hall. The program will spotlight music inspired by their Portugal tour, including traditional folksongs and a special feature with guitarist Sean Thrower, who traveled with the students and accompanied them during the trip.
