Some Trion residents were a bit concerned this morning when the town’s warning siren went off not during its regularly scheduled testing time promping some of them to call the town and 911. However, it was just an unscheduled test necessitated by needed repairs, according to Trion Police Chief Chad Spraggins. Spraggins explained that there were some issues with the wrning system’s dispatch console in which the siren would turn on but wouldn’t turn off. The repairman was out this morning and the siren worked correctly around 9 a.m. today. Spraggins said he is sorry for any concerns the unscheduled warning may have caused. The next time the siren is set to go off is at noon April 4th, the regularly scheduled testing time.
