Correction: Due to incorrect documents provided by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office it was incorrectly reported that Jack Thomas Rich of Summerville was arrested a second time this past weekend for an offense that took place in March. Thomas was arrested only once in March.  

 

 

 

 

An man who was employed at Hays State Prison was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute.  According to the the Chattooga County Jail booking report, 29-year-old Jack Thomas Rich, of Summerville,  was booked into the local jail this past weekend. He is charged withCharged with VGCSA – Possession of Schedule III Drug with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Meth, Possession of Schedule IV Drug with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule III Drug, Possession of Schedule IV Drug for an offense that took place on March 3.  According to the booking report, Rich’s last known employer was Hayes State Prison. Officials at Hayes  would not say if Rich was employed by the prison at the time of his arrest or if he is still employed there. Several phone calls to the Dept of Corrections Public Affairs offices were unanswered and were not returned by the time this story was added to the AM 1180 website.
