Mohawk Industries is celebrating a major career milestone for longtime employee Stephanie Dillard, who has marked 40 years of service with the company.

Dillard works as part of Mohawk’s Inbound Team and plays an important role in the company’s transportation operations, helping coordinate freight for trucks returning to North Georgia.

Her responsibilities include making sure returning trucks are loaded with both internal and external freight rather than making empty trips back to the terminal. The work helps maximize loaded miles while also moving materials needed by Mohawk’s manufacturing operations.

Some of those loads have a direct connection to the company’s operations in Chattooga County.

According to Mohawk, Dillard helps coordinate the transportation of materials including plastic bottles that are brought to the company’s Summerville facility for recycling. Those recycled materials support Mohawk’s manufacturing process while keeping significant amounts of plastic out of the waste stream.

Throughout her four-decade career, Dillard has earned recognition for her leadership, dedication and efforts to improve the efficiency of Mohawk’s transportation network.

Mohawk recently presented Dillard with a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing her 40 years with the company.

“Her leadership and commitment to maximizing loaded miles have made a significant impact on our transportation operations,” Mohawk Industries Drivers said in recognizing the milestone.

The company thanked Dillard for “four decades of dedication, leadership, and excellence.”

Dillard’s 40-year milestone highlights a career that has not only supported Mohawk’s transportation operations but has also contributed to the manufacturing and recycling work taking place locally at the company’s Summerville facility.
