
The Trion Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time Secretary/Chief Clerk of Court position.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, experience with Microsoft Office, the ability to work with the public and the ability to perform general office duties. Applicants will also be subject to a background investigation and may be required to complete a polygraph examination. A good driving history is preferred.
The position includes a wide range of duties for both the police department and municipal court. Responsibilities include answering phones and emails, maintaining agency files, entering citations into the court database, receiving and recording payments and coordinating with the public and other agencies.
The employee will also be responsible for issuing building permits and coordinating with the Town of Trion Building Official, as well as maintaining agency supplies.
As Chief Clerk of Court, the employee will help prepare and process court cases, maintain court dockets, schedule court dates, notify parties about court appearances and fees, prepare materials for court sessions and maintain case files.
