Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett urges those living in the county with disabilities to call the Emergency 911 Center to alert officials to their needs in the event of an emergency. Those needs will be noted and anytime emergency personnel respond to that home in an emergency it could save a life. Those bedridden, in wheelchairs, the blind, those on dialysis and on oxygen as well as those with other disabilities could benefit. Everett says those affected can call the non-emergency number at 857-3400.
