Chattooga County is seeking proposals from companies interested in providing uniform rental and laundry services for multiple county departments, with bids scheduled to be opened later this month.

The county has issued a Request for Proposals for a company to provide rental uniforms along with the cleaning, maintenance, repair and replacement of garments used by county employees.

The service would cover a variety of work clothing, including work shirts, work pants, safety-rated garments, jackets, coveralls and other specialty items. The selected company would also be expected to provide services such as employee sizing, inventory management, scheduled delivery and customer support.

Companies submitting proposals must have at least three years of experience providing uniform rental and laundry services and must provide references. Vendors are also required to maintain applicable licenses required to operate in Georgia.

Proposals are expected to include information about available uniform options, the company’s ability to provide the required services and detailed pricing.

According to the bid information, proposals will be evaluated on several factors, including cost and overall value to Chattooga County, experience, quality and reliability.

The deadline for proposals is Wednesday, September 30, at 10 AM.

Chattooga County’s official calendar lists the bid opening for September 30 at 10102 Commerce Street in Summerville. The county calendar has the bid opening scheduled from 10 AM until noon.

The request is being handled through the Office of the Sole Commissioner. Chattooga County operates under the sole commissioner form of government, with Andy Allen serving as Sole Commissioner.

The county regularly contracts with private companies for goods and services needed by county departments. Competitive proposals allow the county to compare pricing, service capabilities and experience before selecting a vendor.
