A community food distribution event will take place Monday, October 19, in Summerville, giving eligible residents an opportunity to receive free groceries.
The event is being hosted by the Chattooga Area Food Bank and will take place from 3 PM until 5 PM at the Summerville Parks and Recreation Department, located at 220 Highway 100 in Summerville.
Eligible residents will receive a variety of grocery items, including pantry staples, fresh produce, frozen foods and other items as supplies allow.
The distribution will be conducted drive-thru style, with volunteers loading groceries directly into recipients’ vehicles. No reservations or deliveries will be available.
Organizers say the event will end once all available food has been distributed. Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are limited.
The food giveaway is part of ongoing efforts by the Chattooga Area Food Bank to assist local families and individuals facing food insecurity.
