The Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation’s Board of Trustees has been named a 2026 Role Model Board by the Technical College Foundation Association of Georgia, marking the fifth consecutive year the foundation has received the statewide honor.

The recognition highlights the board’s commitment to supporting students and maintaining high standards in nonprofit governance, financial accountability and fundraising.

The Technical College Foundation Association of Georgia represents foundations affiliated with the state’s 23 technical colleges and more than 450 trustees across Georgia.

Lauretta Hannon, executive director of Institutional Advancement at GNTC, said the recognition reflects the dedication of the foundation’s trustees to helping students succeed.

“This designation as a Role-Model Board is confirmation of what we already knew—the GNTC Foundation Trustees are passionate about supporting our students,” Hannon said.

Hannon added that board members have demonstrated exceptional commitment to helping students achieve their educational and career goals through their service, contributions and leadership.

The Role Model Board designation is awarded annually to technical college foundations that demonstrate excellence in nonprofit operations, board management, financial compliance and fundraising activities.

To qualify, foundations must meet certification requirements established by the association, including active trustee participation in development activities and continuing professional development for board members and college advancement personnel.

The GNTC Foundation received its recognition during the 2026 Technical College System of Georgia Fall Leadership Conference, held recently at the Hyatt Regency Savannah.

GNTC was among 17 technical college foundations across Georgia recognized for meeting the certification requirements.

The GNTC Foundation supports students attending Georgia Northwestern Technical College, which serves Chattooga County and surrounding Northwest Georgia communities through technical education and workforce training programs.
