The Georgia Department of Education is encouraging students, parents and community members to nominate outstanding teachers for statewide recognition through its Teach in the Peach Teacher of the Week initiative.
The program, presented in partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation, will recognize one Georgia teacher each week for 40 weeks.
Each selected Teacher of the Week will receive a $1,000 DonorsChoose gift code to purchase classroom supplies, instructional materials and other resources to benefit students.
The initiative is designed to recognize educators who make a difference in their schools and communities while providing additional resources to support classroom learning.
Nominations are open year-round through the Georgia Teachers Initiative. Students, parents, fellow educators, school administrators and community members are all eligible to nominate a deserving teacher.
The Georgia Department of Education is encouraging Georgians to recognize teachers whose dedication, creativity and commitment have made a positive impact on students.
Residents of Chattooga County are encouraged to consider nominating outstanding educators from Chattooga County Schools, Trion City Schools and other Georgia schools.
