The Lyerly Town Council Thursday night awarded a bid for work at it's wastewater lagoon. 

The board unanimously approved a bid for $126.025 from Rehab Construction of Conyers, the same firm doing work at Summerville's filter plant.  The work will consist of adding an aerator to one pond; baffle curtains; and baffles to the stabilization pond. Mayor Josh Wyatt said this will give a better mixture with more oxygen and get the dissolved oxygen levels up in the summertime. The town's wastewater treatment facility has been in non-compliance in the past, netting small finess.  Wyatt says he expects the work to begin in about 30 days.
