If there are warrants for your arrest, make sure you have enough gas in your car to get where you are going.

According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office, a Dogwood Lane, Lyerly woman reported that two men who were acting suspicious had knocked on her door Friday afternoon and said they ran out of gas. She also informed 911 of the vehicle description. Deputies were dispatched to the area and spotted the truck. The woman who had reported the incident said the two men knocked on her door, said they had run out of gas but knew someone who lived at the end of the road they could get gas from. She said they then took off walking down the road.

About the time the deputy left the residence to look for the men they pulled up on a 4-wheeler with another neighbor. It was soon discovered that there were several warrants for the arrest of the driver of the truck, James Walter Busbin III, of Summerville. The other male gave officers a false name and said he had no ID. It was soon discovered that the man with no idea was Charles Edward Milstead, who also had outstanding warrants for his arrest in the county.

Busbin and Milstead were taken to the Chattooga County Jail. Busbin was charged with criminal trespass; burglary; and entering an auto or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft. Milstead was charged with giving a false name/address/birth date to law enforcement officers.
