Four Chattooga County residents this week reported theft from vehicles to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department: two of thefts occurred in the parking lot of Maplewood Apartments.

William Alan Cesareo of a Roslyn Lane Summerville address reported on Tuesday that someone entered his 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup and rummaged through the console. The only thing taken was the check book to his United Community Bank account. The report does not indicate whether the vehicle was locked.

Also on Tuesday, April Cheree Hunter of a Maplewood Drive address, reported that someone entered her unlocked 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt and took her United Community Bank Debit Card.

On Wednesday, Preston Wayne McGatha, of a Lake Wanda Reita Road address, told Chattooga County Sheriff's deputies that someone busted out the glass of his 1998 Chevrolet Blazer with a rock, entered the vehicle and took an Acer laptop.

Bob Tapp, of a Maplewood Drive, Summerville, address reported that on Wednesday morning he discovered that his unlocked Dodge Caravan and Dodge pickup had been broken into and ransacked. Tapp told a Chattooga County Sheriff's Deputy that a pack of cigarettes and $6 in change was taken from the Caravan and a pack of cigarettes was taken from the truck. Tapp told the officer that suspicious people walk around the complex parking lot at night.
