A Floyd County deputy has been fired and is the subject of a GBI investigation, according to information from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Donnie Lee had been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. He still has the right to appeal.

According to a news release, the case involves personal behavior that occurred while Lee was employed part-time at Floyd Medical Center, but specifics were not released.

An internal investigation was completed on Sept. 21, 2012, and the report confirms that Mr. Lee acted in a manner inconsistent with the standards of a sheriff’s office employee,”

Lee reportedly was found to be in violation of numerous Floyd County personnel board policies and Floyd County Sheriff’s Office general orders.
