A Chattooga County couple reported a burglary at their residence on Tuesday sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. According to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department report, Roy Blackmon got home just before noon and noticed the front door open and the screen door shut. He said he thought he hadn't shut the door well that morning and it blew open. When his wife arrived home, she discovered several things missing from the residence. Taken was a firearm with an estimated value of $200 and electronic-type items valued at $1325. A detailed list of items taken was not listed on the report provided to AM1180. A neighbor reportedly saw an older model gray or primer colored vehicle drive up the driveway to the home but only stayed a short while. There was no forced entry to the residence.
