For the second time this year, Georgia Power Co. has asked the state for a rate reduction. The Georgia Public Service Commission was notified its intention to file a fuel-rate reduction on Nov. 1. If the request is granted the new lower rates will take effect January 1.
The approval last June was for 19 percent, which reduced monthly bills on average of $8. No word yet on the amount of this proposed reduction.
