A Highway 48 man reported on Friday that his home was broken into and several weapons were stolen. Billy Jo Lemming said that between 8 a.m. and noon Friday six weapons were taken. He said the burglars forced open the front door, went into the rear bedroom and opened the wooden gun cabinet by taking out the front glass panel. Nothing in the home reportedly was taken or appeared to have been touched, according to the report. The case was turned over to a Sheriff's Department detective. The serial numbers of the weapons, valued at $1,175, were entered into the GCIC/NCIC computer.
