A Lafayette couple have been charged with stealing from their employer, Walmart in Ft. Oglethorpe. Both 17-year-old David Jacob Henegar and 20-year-old Cherish Rebekah Townsend reportedly worked at the Fort Oglethorpe Walmart. They were arrested last Sunday and charged with theft. The couple, who list a Highway 151, LaFayette, address, were reportedly observed by other employees who told police that Henegar took electronic tablets from lay-a-way and gave them to Townsend to put in her purse. In all, they are accused of taking almost $1200 in merchandise from the store. Henegar reportedly told police he was raising money for his girlfriend to hire a lawyer to regain custody of a child.
